OUR PEACEFUL HOME

Image
Hello friends! I hope the good Lord is keeping you well wherever you are. Welcome again to this little house. I hope you stay awhile! Schools are out for summer break and summer is officially here! It is blazing hot right here in central North Carolina. I've had to limit our outdoor time to early mornings 6:30am - 11:00am and  in the evening; 6:00pm - 8:30pm. Yes, we are up that early; even the lad; (especially the lad)! In fact, I don't need an alarm most mornings. Like this morning, he was up at 6:10am. We headed straight outside; I prayed out there then after I made breakfast which we had breakfast at the patio. It was so wonderful! I see myself acquiring proper sitting for that area in the future when I get to work on the backyard. For now, I am working on the front yard; doing some landscaping keeping myself occupied in the evening after dinner as the lad gets his last play of the day. The DIY landscaping is back breaking but so rewarding at the end of a project. I'll ...

OUR BACKYARD

Hello friends! Welcome back to this little house! I'm glad you stopped by! I hope you are enjoying your summer. The heat is having us become regulars at the community splash park. My son enjoys playing in the water a lot! I'm overjoyed watching him have so much fun with other kids. What can I say? I'm blessed! I want to share with you what I've been upto lately out in the yard. This post is going to be the first in my DIY landscaping series. I hope you drop by soon for more to come. My landscaping journey began March 2024 in the back yard. There was a small bush which scared the heck out of me, especially at night. I could imagine an outlaw hiding there and coming in to attack us at night! For security reasons, I wanted it gone! I ordered a handheld chainsaw and a machete off Amazon for the job. The goal was to cut it down before the leaves started growing back. One warm morning, I went for it with all the energy within me. It took me about 6hrs (with multiple breaks in...

THE LITTLE HOUSE WE CALL HOME

Image
Welcome to our home! A  Christ centered; heavenly minded; peaceful, happy, and of course lived in home! Make yourself comfortable! After a couple of house tours, God landed us in this place! I thank Him.  Sitting on 0.28 acres, this 1213 Square feet house was built in 1982. Pretty small compared to the average American house size which is 2400 square feet; but it is the perfect size for us in this current season. I was looking for something bigger and "better"; but God knew exactly what I need and that's exactly what He gave me. A three bedrooms; one bathroom house with a decent size open floor plan great room; a small kitchen; a pantry/laundry room; and a linen closet in the hall. I can say my son has enough space to run around; and best of all it is very manageable for me as a full-time working homemaker. The flooring is carpet except for the bathroom which has vinyl planks and kitchen which has laminate. All fixtures are pretty much dated. From the popcorn sealing; to ...

GOD BLESSED US WITH A HOUSE

Image
Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well wherever you are as you read this! This is my first post and it's  a praise report. God blessed us with a house; our first house.  We had always talked about buying a house, but that was it, just talk. In my mind, we weren't ready for such a big commitment. So whenever my husband brought it up, I politely brushed it off with excuses. The pandemic came along with very low interest rates, the subject came up again about but we  ended up renewing our lease.  I really liked our apartment home. It was a gated complex; in a safe neighborhood; and overall well maintained. The unit itself was very spacious for a one bedroom apartment, with very attractive features. A tall ceiling with both crown and wall molding; a fireplace, stone countertops; a deep single bowl sink; white tall cabinets; stainless steel appliances; walk-in closet; Jack and Jill bathroom with a garden tub and a double sink vanity; a laundry room with a wa...
